Hello, and welcome to rivulet 6: the yikes tapes. In this special issue, we're excited to introduce TRANSMISSIONS FROM PLANET YIKES, a collaborative zine series showcasing work that moves through the yikes oof sticky 😬😬😓 by journaling, listing, archiving, repopulating, delighting in, and/or attempting to move through the grotesques of labor, gender, and the internet-uncanny.
On May 31, 2020, YIKES Vol 2 would have premiered in-person at Los Angeles Zine Fest, which transitioned to a virtual festival. Imagine yourself in a converted parking lot, crowded with avid weirdos, navigating the booths.
From June through August 2020, YIKES artists created responses, remixes, and critical interventions to their original pieces. You'll find these remixes in the links bordering YIKES 2.
