Giovan Alonzi

I.

a thorasic measure
     shucking & melting
     & bending
     the wrapped
& the rocked
     in abyssal plain
     of sacral feed
     & breed
& a half
     an eye
on it all

a nest of
     efficiency
     might be
     trying
it’s almost there
     it’s parasympathetic
goop in the grooves
     that nation flesh——

odanata’s damselfly
     & dragon eye’s
thirst for a sermon’s
     earth-waters

the flood blending*
     the snake
oil into
     the beginning

*

II.

clouds rolling through the eyes
      like the cottonmouth that sloughs

obsessed with rough surfaces
      continental belly husk

eager for seafloors, atolls & volcanoes
      the dragging skin collects

all kinds of brambles
      slimes & animals

born preverbal again
      a fray of infrared’s

frigid waves apportioned
      for our myths; the vision

of a kindred light
      against, mad as hell,
            unable to take it anymore

III.

& a fault line of heart-splitting metal
     (such a an itchy scale)
turning umbilically
     (such a tracing)
through the lochia’s
     groundwater
radiation & contractions
     of arable land

long living
     (such an ick)
diffuse & infinitesimal
     stitching in the light
(such a flight
     half-finished)
looping so loud
     nobody can hear
the overdubbed water clock
     (such a flush bursting)

betrayal of supremacy’s
     mean street time & constant
decay——the pleasure-venom
     of its girth & interface

the democratized nu-flesh
     & autolytic rhymes
olde brain’s bald mimicry
     of the elastic gape

devouring what its water
     births, what its water
sheds, & what its water
     tortures in the scales’
glimmer
